Eddie Hearn Visits Southend Children's Charity To Support Alongside The Yianis Christodoulou Foundation

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport visited Blenheim Children’s Centre in Southend to donate thousands of care packages to vulnerable children in the local area.

Parcels containing food, household essentials, colouring books and crayons were hand delivered to the children’s centre by the Essex-born promoter in activity arranged by The Yianis Christodoulou Foundation, with the effects of Covid-19 on local livelihoods at the forefront.

The Yianis Group owns the Park Inn Palace Hotel in Southend and has been showing support to charities in areas where they own real estate assets throughout the Coronavirus outbreak.

Founder of The Yianis Christodoulou Foundation, John Christodoulou said: “It is important to continue our efforts throughout this crisis to help our local communities in need”

“It means a lot to receive support from Eddie and his family, and the staff and volunteers from the charities were delighted to be able to meet them and be personally thanked for their ongoing hard work.”

The parcels will really be appreciated by the families we support in Southend and we know that the children especially, will enjoy the crayons and colouring books.”

Cllr Anne Jones, cabinet member for Children & Learning at Southend-on-Sea Borough Council added: “I would like to thank The Yianis Christodoulou Foundation for their generosity in donating these parcels, which will help keep young families fed through what continues to be a very challenging time for many.

“I was delighted to see the foundation working closely with Family Action and our children’s centre and Eddie to make this happen and bring a little relief and joy into our local community.”
