New Multi Sport Court at Alethriko Primary School

Based on the aims of the ‘Yianis Christodoulou Foundation’ for the provision of better learning opportunities for children in school, as well as ensuring their health and safety during the time in school, the Foundation has covered the cost of upgrading the outdoor facilities of the basket-ball court of Alethriko Primary School with the installation of special outdoor tartan (multi-sport) flooring. The court is used extensively for the Gymnastic lessons of the students, for other outdoor activities of the Optional All Day School and Summer School, and for the children’s recreation during break time. The opening was organised on the 4th of April 2019 in the presence of the Founder of the YCF and the Inspector of the School, who represented the Ministry of Education and Culture. The whole ceremony was devoted to Stavros Giorgalli, the 10 year old boy who lost his life after an injury while playing basket-ball at the school.
